Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation's largest nonprofit organization, and works to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking. Founded by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, the charity also supports drunk and drugged driving victims and survivors at no charge. One in three people in this country will be involved in a drunk driving crash in their lifetime, but MADD is working to change that statistic. Drunk driving has declined 23%, and MADD has saved almost 300,000 lives since they launched in 2006. Their success is measured in the number of lives saved.
Straub Automotive is proud to help support MADD in their mission to eliminate drunk driving, support the victims of this crime and prevent underage drinking.

Starting in late September and throughout the month of October in 2013, Straub Automotive created a special fund to include $100 for every car sold during this period to purchase special "wish list" items provided by local area hospitals for their breast cancer patients. In addition to fulfilling these wish lists for breast cancer patients from Wheeling Hospital, Ohio Valley Medical Center and Reynolds Memorial Hospital, all remaining funds collected were divided amongst each of the hospitals.
The breast cancer patient care wish list items included padded seatbelt covers, cosmetic bags, comfort bears and new patient gowns. These were presented to the patients on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Straub Automotive.
On December 9, 2013 The House of Carpenter, a local Christian organization, received Christmas gifts collected and donated by the employees of Straub Automotive. The gifts were distributed to 14 children in Wheeling, WV, as part of the House of Carpenter's annual "Christmas Kids" outreach. Each of the families provided a list of their children's "Special Christmas Requests" that were then purchased and donated by Straub employees.
According to Bryan Fato, Executive Manager, "We are extremely proud of all our Straub employees for their heartwarming generosity in purchasing so many gifts for the House of Carpenter's wonderful program to help brighten the lives of so many children this Christmas. I am truly honored to work with each and every one of them."
The House of Carpenter's mission is to meet the immediate physical needs of the disadvantaged and disenfranchised in the Greater Wheeling, WR area, and to assist them in developing skills that will help them lead more independent, productive and fulfilling lives.
